Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF) Standby Request
at Chicago Executive Airport (KPWK)
Service Provision:
Chicago Executive Airport (KPWK) is a busy, large, general aviation airport that is not ARFF Indexed and does not operate under FAR Part 139. The Prospect Heights Fire Protection District and the Village of Wheeling Fire Department provides offsite fire and emergency services to the Airport on a normal basis.
Chicago Executive Airport always strives to offer the best services tailored to the users of the Airport. The Village of Wheeling Fire Department has agreed to offer a pre-arranged extra duty standby request service at an additional cost.
Pending availability and confirmation from the Fire Department, the standby service would provide coverage for at least 15 minutes before scheduled arrival to 15 minutes after the departure for unscheduled operations.
This standby service will be provided by Wheeling’s 2022 Oshkosh Striker (Crash Truck 44) and two (2) certified fire fighters.
- 2000 Gallons Per Minute Pump.
- 1500 Gallon Water Tank.
- 210 Gallon Class B Foam Tank.
- 500 lbs. Purple K Dry Chemical.
- 750 Gallons Per Minute Roof Turret (Foam Capable).
- 750 Gallons Per Minute Front Bumper Turret (Foam and Purple K Capable).
*The designated staging fire staging area may differ from the Aircraft’s intended destination on the airfield.

Fee Structure:
This agreement is for one (1) ARFF apparatus and two (2) certified fire fighters.
Total Cost Per 2 Hour Interval: $1,040.00 USD.
Upon confirmation of services from the Fire Department, Airport Operations will direct the Aircraft Operator to prepay the above rate via credit card with the Fixed Based Operator/Handler at KPWK. Receipt confirmation must be sent to [email protected] within 2 hours of confirmation otherwise the ARFF services will not be provided.
